Medical Grade Facials

Ideal Reflection Medical Spa offers a wide range of facials designed to improve skin for men and women of all ages. We are proud to offer a variety of skin care options that can bring your skin back to beautiful balance using the appropriate products and procedures based on your specific concerns that can renew your facial skin to a healthy, youthful radiance.

Depending on your skin’s unique condition and needs, our medical grade facials are designed to enhance the look and texture of your skin by cleansing, hydrating, heal acne, reduce both fine and deep lines, boost collagen and restore overall skin vibrancy and health.

Chemical Peels

We personalize our chemical peel treatments to fit your individual skincare needs. Chemical peels are used to treat a variety of skin concerns such as: acne, dull dry skin, hyper-pigmentation, and prematurely aging skin. Chemical peels use a specially formulated chemical solution to remove damaged skin layers, forcing the skin to regenerate itself. As the skin heals, a clear, younger-looking complexion is revealed. Treatments are safe, but we advise you to be cautious with sun exposure afterwards. Keeping out of direct sunlight will prevent uneven pigmentation and help keep your post-treatment skin healthy.

Each procedure is customized depending on skin type, preferred level of exfoliation and results desired. You will have visible results after one treatment, but a series of (6) treatments is highly recommended.

Once we have familiarized ourselves with your skin, we will not only customize your peel, but will identify the facial and peel combination that will provide even more dramatic results. We are also focused on your long-term skincare benefits so we will track your skin’s condition upon every visit and change your regimen if need be.

Recovery time varies based upon the type of peel used. Most peels do not require social downtime, but the patient may experience some redness, “frosting” and swelling for 24 hours post treatment. Some chemical peels allow the action of peeling to actually occur in our office so there is no peeling post treatment while others may have sloughing of dead skin cells for up to 7 days. We recommend using mineral makeup to conceal any areas of redness and broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect the skin from sun damage.

F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions)

If you have dull or rough skin texture, want smoother brighter skin and eradicate unwanted dark spots.

Chemical peels can help you see a dramatic reduction in the appearance of sun spots and age spots. In addition, chemical peels help improve the appearance of acne, acne scars, and irregularities in your skin’s pigmentation. We perform consistent and safe peels with predictable results for all skin types, with no downtime.

It is strongly recommended that the eyes be closed for the UV photos given the intensity of the UV flashes. For standard photos, the eyes can be either open or closed, although more aesthetically pleasing images are achieved with the eyes open. Because the mask is created using the standard photo (in which the patient's eyes are typically open), there is no need to be concerned that eyelashes will be included inadvertently in UV analysis, even though the patient's eyes are closed.

There are several potential reasons why the porphyrin count for a particular patient may not be reduced-or worse case, increase, after cleansing his/her skin. First, certain types of paper/tissue that might have been used to dry the face after cleansing could have a high content of lint particles. Lint will actually fluoresce under UV light. Subject matter expert Greg Hillebrand, Ph.D., offers the further explanation that "in some situations, the true porphyrin fluorescence of an initial image could be quenched by something that the subject had on his/her unclean face, and then after removal of this interfering quenching agent, a higher level of fluorescence could be observed. Finally, the simple cleansing of the skin with a normal everyday facial cleanser is probably not going to change the true number of pores that show porphyrin fluorescence. It has been reported that washing with a cleanser containing benzoyl peroxide will, over time, reduce the number of pores. Also, using strips or other devices to physically remove the contents of the pores will help to reduce the fluorescence as well."

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive, pain free treatment for removing the topmost layer of skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, light acne scars, uneven pigmentation, sun damage and signs of aging to refresh skin and increase radiance. Removing this outer layer of dead skin cells leaves a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells.

Microdermabrasion is a wonderful alternative to laser skin resurfacing or chemical peels because it is non-invasive, non-surgical, and requires no down time after treatment. Your skin will have a radiant glow, even out the texture and pigmentation, improve the appearance of wrinkles and acne scarring leaving the skin healthier, softer and firmer.

Microdermabrasion can help to treat a variety of conditions, including sun-damaged skin on the face, neck, or shoulders; age spots on the hands or face; minor to moderate fine lines around the eyes or on the forehead; acne scars; blackheads and whiteheads; hyperpigmentation; and oily skin.

Patients may experience a sunburn or windburn type of sensation with reddening of the skin’s surface, however; makeup can be applied, and normal activities can be resumed immediately following the treatment.

F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions)

If you are looking to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, crow’s feet, sun damage, age spots and/or acne scars and are physically healthy and realistic in your expectations, then microdermabrasion may be right for you.

Microdermabrasion involves the use of a specialized machine to manually exfoliate the surface of your skin. The exfoliation is performed with a diamond-encrusted applicator tip. The tip passes over the skins surface and creates a gentle vacuum.  The diamond tip exfoliates approximately 20-25 microns of dead skin cells of the outermost layer (stratum corneum). Once removed, it reveals one’s own fresher, younger looking skin beneath.

All skin types can receive Microdermabrasion both women and men. However certain medical conditions such as warts, active herpes, active acne, active rosacea or eczema, psoriasis, lupus, or dermatitis should not receive the treatment.

Medical Skin Needling, also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is a minimally invasive treatment to rejuvenate the skin. Micro-Needling is aimed at stimulating the body’s own collagen production to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, skin laxity and scarring such as that caused by acne.

The micro needling procedure works by the creation of hundreds of “micro-injuries” or “micro-channels” to the skin using a precision-controlled handpiece containing the micro-needle roller tip cap and a cartridge of the particular serum of choice is moved across the skin increasing collagen and fibroblast activity. This results in clearer, younger looking skin that is less prone to aging.

Clinically proven active infusion serums are available.

  • Hydrate – This serum uses Hyaluronic acid with a patented technology called Hylasponge to form a fully hydrated layer that helps guarantee that hydration is delivered into deeper layers of skin. It also delivers intense hydration to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Clarify – The clarify solution features two key active ingredients. Salicylic acid opens clogged pores and neutralizes bacteria within the pores. It reduces pore congestion and breakouts on skin. Lactic acid, part of the alpha hydroxy acid family, exfoliates the outer layer of skin and increases collagen production to minimize fine lines and wrinkles and reduce blackheads and whiteheads.
  • Rejuvenate – This serum has five active ingredients that stimulate fibroblast and collagen production in the skin. They also help relax muscles to prevent wrinkling from repeated muscle movement.
  • Lighten – This serum utilizes Kojic acid to lighten skin by suppressing melanocyte activity and pigmentation. It also has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties.
  • Vitamin C – Vitamin C 2% Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is an antioxidant that slows the rate of free-radical damage. Free radicals are unstable molecules that damage collagen and cause skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Growth Factors Rejuvenating Complex- Rejuvenation at its finest! This is a rich blend of growth factors, moisturizers, peptides and vitamins for younger looking skin.

DermaFrac Micro Needling improves the appearance of:

  • Smooths Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Creates Firmer skin
  • Improves textures and pores
  • UV damage
  • Sun damage and pigmentation
  • Enlarged pores
  • Lightens Pigmentation
  • Skin’s strength
  • Oily congested skin

F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions)

By combining precisely calibrated needle penetration and unprecedented infusion capability, DermaFrac creates micro channels to the dermal junction while simultaneously infusing topical serums to this all-important tissue layer. The DermaFrac system uses a unique combination of technologies to enable an improved micro-needling procedure along with immediate infusion of a powerful active serum.

While not painful, it is a more intense skin workout than most facials. The peptide solution is pleasantly cooling against the skin and there is no anesthesia required or recovery time. Slight redness or faint scratches may remain after the treatment, depending on your skin’s sensitivity, but these will fade within a couple of hours. It is advised that you do not wear makeup after the procedure for the evening or a few hours to ensure the best benefit from the treatment.

Before the treatment:

  • Avoid retinols and sun exposure 48 hours prior.
  • 1 or more treatments may be necessary to achieve desired result.
  • Discontinue active ingredient products like Retin A and/or Retinol for 1 week.
  • Do not schedule if you have used Accutane (isotretinoin) in the past 6 months, have an active skin infection, or have had radiation in the past year to the area to be treated

After the treatment

  • May experience some redness.
  • Do not apply any products (including sunscreen) for 3 hours post treatment.
  • No direct sun exposure for 1-week post treatment.

Micro-needling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results. For collagen induction we recommend to start with 4 treatments, but with a minimum separation time of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. For scar reduction an average of 3 to 6 treatments are recommended. The number of treatments required will depend on how each individual respond to the treatments, and the extent of the damage at the beginning Micro-needling can be used on all skin parts of the body (neck, décolleté, arms, legs, etc). Most people will begin to see results after the very first appointment.

Ideal Reflection Medical Spa uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) a light-based technology that reduce the appearance of wrinkles, sun damage, pigmentation spots, rosacea and redness, symptoms of acne or even unpleasant hair.

IPL is the gold standard for skin rejuvenation, discover a younger looking face and smoother looking skin in just minutes without experiencing any pain. IPL is an FDA-cleared, patented technology provides dramatic results for a variety of benign conditions, including age spots, sun-induced freckles, symptoms of rosacea, birthmarks, unsightly veins, acne scarring and other blemishes — even unwanted hair.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) is a non-invasive, non-ablative skin care treatment that utilizes pulses of high intensity visible light to improve the appearance of various skin conditions. IPL skin treatments using the photo rejuvenation process represent a breakthrough in age-defying skin care. This popular technique treats skin damage non-invasively — there is no disruption of the skin’s epidermal surface. IPL treatments address the effects of photo-aging and sun damage with low risk of complications and no recovery time.

What makes IPL different from laser is that it directs a broad-spectrum high intensity light pulse on the skin instead of a more invasive, precisely calibrated laser beam set on a narrower, specific wavelength.  In other words, IPL operates on a wider range of wavelengths and thus, one IPL machine can treat more than one condition, using special filters to remove unwanted wavelengths and keep only those required for the specific skin concern being addressed.

Intense pulse light can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production.  This allows the skin to appear firmer and smoother.

Hyperpigmentation is a patch of skin that has become darker in color than the normal surrounding skin.  This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin colour, forms deposits in the skin. We refer to hyperpigmentation as age spots, liver spots, freckles, sun spots.

A person might experience hyperpigmentation on their face or body for a number of reasons, including hormones, medication, skin disease, photo damage or even the natural aging process, consider IPL for hyperpigmentation treatment.

IPL helps to neutralize areas of hyperpigmentation while minimizing any damage caused to the surrounding tissue. Enjoy a much more even, youthful skin tone.

Intense pulse light has proved effective in reducing the look of broken capillaries (spider veins).  The application of IPL frequencies generate heat which causes the blood inside the vessel walls to coagulate resulting in their collapse and sealing.  Over a period of weeks, the spider vein becomes invisible as it is absorbed by the body.  The surrounding tissue remains unscarred and undamaged.

Acne Rosacea

Acne is a daily challenge for many people who suffer its discomfort around the world. Light based technology has created a revolution in the treatment of Acne. The treatments are short, effective and painless.

Acne Rosacea is a common skin condition generally characterized by redness in the cheek, nose, and mid face areas.  Rosacea causes a flushing of the face which can eventually leave permanently enlarged visible red blood vessels and capillaries.

IPL treatments have proved to very effective in closing down the enlarged blood vessels which cause the red-faced appearance in patients with Acne Rosacea.

Hair Removal

Intense pulse light is an effective, safe method of removing unwanted hair and can be used safely to treat most parts of the body.  Compared with methods such as electrolysis and waxing, IPL hair removal is an effective form of permanent hair reduction that is nearly pain free for most people.  Back treatments using IPL can be done in as little as 30 minutes and most other areas generally require less time.  The number of sessions required to sustain permanent hair reduction varies based on the density of hair being treated and growth.

In most cases, no visible reaction will be observed and you can resume normal activities immediately after your treatment. However, the Sheerwave® IPL 360 does dissipate heat to the targeted tissues and it is entirely normal that the area be slightly red or slightly swollen immediately after the treatment. These symptoms should quickly dissipate within one hour of your treatment. It is possible that these symptoms may persist up to 24 hours after your treatment. If they continue to be visible after 48 hours, it is important to contact your technician for further analysis.

The Clinician will clean the area to be treated and apply a cooling gel. Protective glasses will be worn in order to protect both client and technician from the flashes coming from the Sheerwave®  IPL 360. The Sheerwave® IPL 360 handpiece will be placed over the area to be treated and a series of flashes will be triggered with a minimum of 0.5 seconds between each flash. Once the treatment is completed, the gel will be wiped off and the technician will apply any after treatment creams including a sun protection.

For permanent hair reduction treatment, you will have to shave the areas to be treated 24 hours before the treatment. For blond or white hair, the technician will perform a waxing before the treatment.

Acne can be an extremely difficult and sometimes demoralizing problem for anyone who suffers from it. Though it is typically associated with teenagers, acne has been increasing in frequency in adults as well. At Ideal Reflection Medical Spa, our goal is to treat acne effectively without the use of oral antibiotics or Accutane®, both of which can have significant negative side effects. Because the problem is wide ranging, using multiple methods of treatment (both in the spa and at home) tends to result in the greatest overall effect.

We implement the Most Innovative Techniques and Treatments that allow us to find the best way to get rid of acne in a Safe and Non Invasive Way.

It is rare to come across an individual that has never experienced any of the various types of acne at some point in their life.  Acne, or Acne Vulgaris, is the result of when hair follicles become clogged by an oily liquid produced by glands beneath our skin, or “sebum”.

The release of the sebum is a normal process necessary to rid the body of dead skin cells.  However, when there is an excessive production of this oil, it results in a clogged pore that produces a pimple.  Acne can develop on the face, back, upper arms and chest.  It affects people of all races, skin colors, ages, and sexes.
